In an effort to attract more travellers from India, Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has tied up the “Associate Sponsor” of the IPL cricket team Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS).
The partnership will enable Kenya market itself as an ideal destination for Indian travellers, for business and leisure.
Cricket is a popular sport in India which is the biggest market in Asia for Kenya.
With the promotions, Kenya is targeting a 25 per cent year on year growth seeking to improve the number of Indian travellers to Kenya to 100,000 by 2018.
Keeping in sight the growing popularity of the destination in the Indian market and to further boost its visibility as a diverse holiday choice for Indians, KTB has associated with the most loved game of Indians.
As part of the sponsorship, KTB facilitated the RPS players and also enabled the Maasai Cricket Warriors to play against RPS in a super-over game.
The tourism board is also running an online promotion that allows Indian participants to win a trip to Kenya, match tickets and signed cricket merchandise.
Magical Kenya will be a located space on the RPS’s match days as well as training uniforms in addition to a joint rollout initiative in advertising, promotion and other forms of communication.

The team features some of popular players in the country like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ajinkya Rahane, along with international stars Ben Stokes and Faf Du Plessis. The team captain is Steve Smith.
